Component Kitting
Do you need component kitting? Find out here!
We are often manufacturing many different gaskets that will eventually be used together in the same line of final production. Rather than shipping each part separately, clients often find it very helpful for those parts to arrive as a “kit”. This process, in which individually separate, but related items are grouped, packaged and shipped together as one unit is referred to as component kitting.
Gasket Engineering is able to provide kitting services and kitting solutions to meet a wide variety of customer needs. This ability to manage multiple parts for our clients is suitable for a wide range of materials from fiberglass and carbon fiber to Kevlar®
Another advantage of component kitting is when the part size is very small. Our kitting services allow customers to receive thousands, or even millions, of tiny parts in packaging that makes it easy to organize and inventory parts. If SKU proliferation is an issue for you, allowing Gasket Engineering to kit your materials for you is a great solution.
Finally, component kitting also allows us to use special coatings, stamping and custom packaging services in a very cost effective manner.
Our clients have come to rely on Gasket Engineering for professional component kitting services and solutions that save time, money and material.

Component Kitting Services
Here’s an example of how one client found our component kitting service to be particularly useful:
Composite One, a leading distributor of a wide range of fiberglass and other composite materials and one of Gasket Engineering’s suppliers, was shipping composite materials in standard 200-lb rolls as needed to make repairs on large wind turbine blades. This was a large amount of material being sent when the actual amount needed for the repair was a fraction of this. The experts at Gasket Engineering proposed a component kitting solution – they would cut and kit the proper materials, in the proper size for the repair needed, thus eliminating the excessive scrap. The result? Not only did this kitting service deliver tremendous savings through efficient material use, it also saved the client significant shipping costs, reduced crane rental costs and unnecessary downtime. As Mark Kirk, Wind Energy Sales Manager at Composite One noted, “Now, with the help of Gasket Engineering, we are sending the right amount of materials needed, and everyone is happy. They have eliminated the headaches without increasing costs. Less work, more profit. That’s why we work with them.”
